Marjorie Murphy is a Board-Certified Labor & Employment attorney and founder of The Murphy Law Practice, PLLC. Her practice focuses on representing employees in complex employment law matters, including discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, disability and leave violations, and wage-and-hour claims. She is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by only a small percentage of Texas attorneys.

Murphy represents employees in claims involving race, age, sex, pregnancy, disability, religion, and national origin discrimination, as well as retaliation related to protected workplace activity. Her work also includes wage-and-hour disputes under the Fair Labor Standards Act, helping employees recover unpaid wages and overtime compensation.

In addition to representing employees, Murphy provides employment law training and compliance education for employers, executives, managers, and human resources professionals. Drawing from years of litigation experience, she helps organizations understand where legal risk arises and how everyday workplace decisions can create significant liability when handled improperly.

Understanding your rights is important. Understanding how organizations evaluate risk, respond to complaints, and defend workplace decisions can be equally powerful.

Before founding The Murphy Law Practice, Murphy spent more than a decade representing Fortune 500 companies in state and federal litigation. Her experience defending employers gives her a unique understanding of workplace investigations, organizational decision-making, and legal defense strategies—insight she now uses to advocate for employees and educate organizations on preventing costly mistakes.

A graduate of Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude as valedictorian, Murphy has been recognized as a Super Lawyer from 2018 through 2026 and is widely respected for her disciplined, fact-driven approach to employment law and workplace accountability.
